VIETNAM TO LAUNCH MODERN B2B AGRICULTURAL EXCHANGES FROM 2026 TO BOOST EXPORTS AND DIGITAL TRADE
Starting in 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) will develop modern B2B agricultural exchanges, prioritizing Vietnam’s key commodities, to directly connect producers, exporters, and international buyers. This initiative is a core task under the Domestic Market Development Program, aimed at stimulating consumption and advancing e-commerce during the 2025–2027 period.
Under the newly approved decision by the Minister of Industry and Trade, the program aims to modernize Vietnam’s trade system, protect consumer rights, and enhance the value of Vietnamese goods in global markets.
Targets by 2025:
-
Retail sales and service revenue to increase by 10.5–12%.
-
Contribute approximately 8.3–8.5% to GDP growth.
-
Keep inflation below 4.5% and maintain stable prices for essential goods.
Priority commodities for the B2B exchanges include rice, coffee, pepper, tea, flowers, tropical fruits, and seafood. All transactions will strictly adhere to international standards such as ISO 34101, Global G.A.P, Rainforest Alliance, and Fairtrade, ensuring sustainability, transparency, and fairness.
MODERN TRADE INFRASTRUCTURE WITH CROSS-BORDER CONNECTIVITY
From 2026 to 2027, the MOIT will build a comprehensive trade ecosystem combining:
-
Modern B2B trading platforms.
-
E-commerce systems linked with traditional markets, supermarkets, and logistics networks.
-
AI and Big Data applications for market analysis and supply chain management.
The plan also includes cross-border logistics hubs at key export gateways like Hai Phong, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, directly connected to economic corridors with China, Laos, and Cambodia.

B2B AGRICULTURAL EXCHANGES – A STRATEGIC LEVER FOR VIETNAM’S EXPORTS
The development of modern B2B agricultural exchanges is expected to:
-
Eliminate multiple intermediary layers, reducing export costs.
-
Ensure price transparency and product traceability.
-
Directly connect to international markets, improving negotiation power and product value.
The MOIT encourages enterprises to participate in operating B2B auction models and aims to establish a Commodity Derivatives Exchange once conditions are favorable.
E-COMMERCE INTEGRATION TO EXPAND VIETNAMESE GOODS’ REACH
In parallel with B2B platforms, e-commerce will remain a key sales channel, with strong investments to integrate online marketplaces with traditional retail and logistics systems. This will help Vietnamese goods reach more customer segments, especially in overseas markets.
Key promotional activities until the end of 2025 include:
-
Vietnam Shopping Festival.
-
National-scale promotional programs.
-
Domestic trade promotion combined with digital technology.
EXPECTED NEW POSITION FOR VIETNAMESE AGRICULTURE
With synchronized trade infrastructure, comprehensive digital transformation, and modern B2B agricultural exchanges, the MOIT aims to:
-
Place Vietnam’s retail sector among the Top 10 most attractive retail markets globally (Kearney Global Retail Development Index).
-
Enhance the value and global brand positioning of Vietnamese agricultural products.
The creation of modern B2B agricultural exchanges is not just a trade infrastructure project — it represents a transformative shift for Vietnam’s agricultural sector, paving the way for a smart, transparent, and sustainable export ecosystem.
